What’s old is new again

General Marketing Ideas

by Mark Nagurski, August 28th, 2008

Springwise points to the return of the milkman in Manhattan as well as some other retro ideas.

So if seemingly passe ideas are now distinctive enough to warrant a mention as ‘new’, what marketing methods might be worthy of a comeback?

Certainly the Internet has changed both the way we market and how we look at customer interaction but that doesn’t necessarily mean past methods are suddenly untenable. Old school methods can also help convey a message of individualism and ‘mom and pop’ authenticity. In the Manhattan Milk example the delivery model it also fits well with a very 21st century green message.

As usual, swimming against the tide can be an excellent way to differentiate your business.
