Ireland is not a massive place and so we don’t get too many opportunities to attend some of the big conferences that US social media types are always banging on about.
Which is why I’m looking forward to the upcoming Podcamp Ireland taking place in Kilkenny on September 27th. Podcamp Ireland is an unconference for those interested in social media.
What’s an unconference I hear you ask?
“… an unconference … relies on the active engagement and collaboration of participants to make it happen. Everything about an unconference comes from the participants. That includes the topics which will be discussed, the time and place, and even the decision as to whether to hold such an event at all.”
More than anything though it’s a great opportunity to meet people interested in social media (there are around 100 registered at present) and learn from those who know what they’re doing.
See you there?
If you’re going (or want to know more) add a comment below and I’ll look forward to seeing you there – and if you haven’t done so yet, make sure you register for Podcamp Ireland here.
