Very Custom Magazines and Newspapers

Back in early December HSBC launched custom in-flight magazines for travelers at London Heathrow’s Terminal 5.

Customers were given a hard-back magazine cover and could then choose from a selection of specifically commissioned looseleaf articles to be bound into the magazine.

The scheme was designed by UK agency Cunning and is another great example of businesses taking custom content creation into their own hands.

On a slightly more tech-savvy but similar note FeedJournal allows you to collate your various RSS feeds into a print newspaper format – creating a completely customized newspaper.

Likewise, FeedJournal’s Publisher service allows bloggers and businesses to offer print versions of their RSS feeds – filling a gap between online and offline content and creating a neat alternative to the traditional print newsletter.

Provided the content itself is up to scratch there’s very little to stop anyone – from big business to solopreneurs – becoming the media.

My apologies to eagle-eyed readers for the stray apostrophe in the second paragraph (now fixed). Content writer’s curse no doubt.
